![]() When in combat, they are automatically hidden. On PC, you can (un)hide by clicking the arrow to the right of your captain's progress, on the switch, you need to hold the Y button to make them (in)visible. They should be visible by default, but can be hidden if desired. And because your legacy can be very useful.Īs you have, no doubt, noticed, your captain has different stats. The reason why this is discussed first, is because you'll go through a fair amount of captains. The guide isn't meant to help you win the game, it's more of a compilation of solid advice that enables you to win it easily. That said, It's fine to do things your way. This guide is intended for the beginning captain. It was written in 2020 and should remain relevant. Maybe that file could be used as is to load our respective translated texture files into the game. After spotting a distinct lack of somewhat complete and up-to-date guides for Sunless Sea, I decided to write my own. It also contains a install_textures.cmd file that I suppose is used to compile those new textures into the relevant game files and replace the original ones. I only found out about this taking a look at the files for the Russian translation, which contains texture files for these occasions. Now those textures aren't directly available in the game directory, I suspect they're packed inside the two files in Steam\steamapps\common\SunlessSea\Sunless Sea_Data\Resources and I don't know how to access them. The same seems to be true for the intro screen with the Joseph Conrad quote. I think the ship plan on the left page of the Hold menu is a texture sheet (one for each ship with the appropriate graphics, of course) with the words for the different slots written on the actual texture, and thus invariable unless the texture itself is edited manually. Thanks in advance for help, who care to read my long post.īy the way I think I may have found why the ship slot labels don't work. But I couldn’t find them in entities and encyclopaedia. I looked up every file for “main menu” terms.Their titles translate with mod except the plural “s” word. As you can see in the screenshots, there are unused characters in the right page of OFFICERS tab.I looked other files for these terms but I couldn’t find any.I changed orginal quailites.json file directly in the \entities folder without mod (NOT WORKED).I have also translated all the terms in quailities_import.json file (NOT WORKED).But you can see in the screenshots OFFICERS tab working properly, both items and slots name translated with mod. (check the screenshot links below) I think there is a checksum between where to equip items and the related slot. The terms change in the items like, “Equips to: Auxiliary" > “Equips to: Destek”, but in the ship eqipment slot page (in game HOLD tab) slot’s name is not changing, they become greyed out. ![]() ![]() When I copy my mod file into add-on folder, translated lines work without a problem but the terms I mentioned before. Everything was OK until I had translated the ship equipment slots (deck, auxiliary, forward, aft, bridge and engines). I have started with “AppData\LocalLow\Failbetter Games\Sunless Sea\entities\qualities.json” file to form terminology dictionary.
